Amy

Strategic Content Manager

Before joining the Home & Local Services team, Amy worked as a writer and publicist in Los Angeles. Her work has been published in numerous publications, including HuffPost, POPSUGAR, Darling Magazine, and other blogs and magazines. She’s passionate about working with creative teams committed to achieving inspired goals, and loves creating SEO-driven solutions for Home & Local Services clients. In her free time, she loves being active and outdoors, reading, and cooking.

Fun fact: Amy has eight brothers and sisters. 

Andy B.

Search Manager

As one of Home & Local Services’ talented Search Managers, Andy is success-driven and focused on delivering the best possible results for clients. Having majored in Sustainable Systems Management and minored in Marketing at the University of Minnesota, he is an environmental and renewable tech enthusiast. He loves traveling the world (London in particular) and being outdoors, and is both a certified ski instructor and scuba diver. 

Fun fact: Andy was a founding father and president of his college fraternity, Theta Chi.

Andy M.

Performance Manager

Andy graduated from Minnesota State University, and is both Google certified and a certified Scrum Master. In addition to prior experience in digital and visual marketing, his background also includes 15 years in the non-profit sector. As a Performance Manager, Andy is an innovative and creative thinker dedicated to delivering the most value possible to clients. Outside of work, Andy enjoys playing guitar and has played in a few different rock bands. 

Fun fact: Andy lived in Wyoming before moving to Minnesota with his wife and two children.

Ben

Onboarding | Project Manager

After graduating from Biola University, Ben began his career in insurance, training teams on sales processes and new software implementation. Relationship-driven by nature, he’s passionate about partnering with others and setting them up for success. In his free time, Ben likes to practice his disc golf and guitar skills, and is an avid songwriter. 

Fun fact: Ben is the loudest talker in the office (hence the megaphone in his avatar).

Brendan

Director of Software

Brendan works as part of the product and development team to bring Home & Local Services’ vision and strategies to life. Before joining the Home & Local Services team, Brendan co-founded a successful automotive digital marketing company that designed and built patented technology to help car dealerships reach more customers and dominate their markets. He is experienced in web development, digital marketing, and product experience, and is passionate about building technology and helping local businesses succeed.

Brent
Brent

Performance Manager

Brent studied Business at the University of Minnesota. Prior to becoming a Performance Manager, he worked in IT sales, life insurance, freight logistics, and as a Camp Director for the YMCA in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California. His favorite part of his job at Home & Local Services is being part of a talented team and learning new skills each day. Outside of work, Brent’s personal interests include golf, disc golf, and playing guitar. 

Fun fact: Brent is fairly positive he can communicate with Butterflies.

Camille

Performance Manager

Camille studied communications and media at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She previously worked in marketing at the Visitor’s Association for Minneapolis, where she got to assist with events like The X-Games and The Super Bowl, and as an Account Manager at LifeTime. At Home & Local Services, she enjoys connecting with clients and putting their requests into action. She loves the fast-paced, ever-evolving nature of the industry. Outside of work, she likes to stay active and spend time at any hiking trail.

Fun fact: Camille loves winter hiking!

Dan

Co-Founder | CIO

Dan is the co-founder of both Home & Local Services and Dealer Teamwork, two of the fastest growing MarCom SaaS platforms in their respective industries. He brings a widely-respected and recognized combination of digital marketing expertise and award-winning product development talent that helps businesses create dramatic and substantial competitive advantages. Dan is also fully-certified and endorsed in all Google, Bing, and Facebook marketing solutions, and has overseen and managed more than $35 million in online advertising investments.  

Fun fact: Dan holds multiple software patents.

Fernando

Creative Director

Fernando holds a master’s degree in Psychology, and a PhD degree in Instructional Technology. He has vast experience in graphic design, animation, game design, and instructional design, and he specializes in designing user interfaces aimed at optimizing user experiences for consumers and learners. By blending education, marketing, design and research, Fernando adopts a user-centered approach for the development of digital products able to inspire, educate, and inform while accomplishing business goals.  

Fun fact: Fernando is from Brazil.

Gage

Onboarding Specialist

As an Onboarding Specialist at Home & Local Services, Gage loves making a positive impact on new clients and works hard behind the scenes to ensure a seamless and successful onboarding experience. He is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and a minor in Global Supply Chain Management at Minnesota State University Moorhead, where he also serves as president of International Collegiate DECA. When he’s not working or studying, Gage enjoys playing tennis, riding his bike, watching sports, and hanging out with his friends. 

Fun fact: Gage is an experienced sailor. 

Holly

Director of Performance Management

Holly received her bachelor’s degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, and her master’s in science and education from the University of St. Thomas. Since then, she has gained more than 12 years of digital marketing experience, and has managed and grown national partnerships valued at more than $15 million per year in revenue. Outside of Home & Local Services, Holly enjoys international travel, theater, and serving as a Volunteer Naturalist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. 

Fun fact: Holly has done missionary work in Lima, Peru for more than 30 years, and served as President of Normandale Lutheran Church’s choir for more than 10 years.

John

CFO

After beginning his career on the East Coast in the restaurant business, John entered into auto sales and marketing, which then led to him becoming the Marketing Research Director at General Mills here in Minneapolis. He has since developed various marketing tools and software products, and worked at different startups and corporations, where he helped market everything from insurance to medical devices. In all that he does, John thrives on finding solutions to unsolved problems and discovering new improvement opportunities. 

Fun fact: John opened a restaurant in a refurbished house from 1710 in Smithtown, NY called Caleb’s Tavern.

Julia

Production Design Artist

Julia majored in Cross-Media Graphics Management with a Business Admin minor from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Before becoming Home & Local Services’ Production Design Artist, Julia built and managed e-commerce websites for various retail stores. In her current role, she collaborates with multiple internal teams while using her design skills to bring clients’ branding to life. Aside from her love of design, Julia also loves cats and being outdoors. 

Fun fact: A conch shell fell on Julia when she was little, which left a scar on her eyebrow (and the ability to talk to dolphins).

Katie

Co-Founder | CEO

Katie’s career was born out of a desire to create data-driven advantages for her clients, and includes more than 20 years in marketing and 15 years in digital marketing. Always eager to grow, learn, and challenge herself, Katie has developed a unique skill set that includes superior customer management, business intelligence, marketing analytics, and attribution. In addition to being Bing certified and Marketing Measurement & Analytics certified (MarketingProfs), she has been Google certified since 2015, and has managed more than $100 million in digital ad spending for clients. 

Fun fact: Katie has lived in Australia.

Kyle

Director of Web & App Development

After several years in the US Air Force and US Army, Kyle transitioned into civilian life and found his niche in the technology sector. An adept technologist with a background in the communications industry and web development, Kyle brings a unique behind-the-scenes perspective to our team. He is passionate about developing tools and processes to help streamline the Home & Local Services marketing machine, and is always on the lookout for new tools, apps, and techniques to help clients be more efficient. 

Fun fact: When he’s not at his laptop, you’ll find Kyle spending time with his wife and son, walking their wiener dog, or escaping into a video game for a couple hours.

Lauren

Performance Manager

Lauren is an innovative problem-solver who loves building authentic, connection-based relationships. Her background includes prior marketing experience, as well as work overseas as an English tutor and travel photographer in France. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington, and a diplôme français from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon III. Lauren’s personal passions include cooking/holistic nutrition, dancing, exploring psychology, and volunteering with JDRF, the American Cancer Society, Dress For Success, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.  

Fun fact: Lauren started a fashion line and online community designed to ignite the ambitious spark within women.

Matt

Onboarding Specialist

Matt studied Communications and Health Science at Mankato State University, and has been working in marketing since 2018. His favorite parts of being an Onboarding Specialist are being able to interact with an amazing and talented team, and being able to build websites for clients both nationally and internationally. In his free time, Matt loves scuba diving, biking, playing guitar, attending concerts, and watching the Minnesota Twins.

Fun fact: Matt and his friend are planning to visit every MLB stadium before they turn 30.

Pat O.

National Sales Manager

Patrick earned his bachelor’s degree in History from the University of Minnesota, where he was also a starting offensive lineman for three seasons. He then spent more than two decades working in the automotive industry, doing everything from sales to management. As Home & Local Service’s National Sales Manager, Patrick loves the people he gets to work with and the ability to make a difference in clients’ lives. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, golfing, fishing, hunting, and just being outdoors. 

Fun fact: Patrick lived in South Korea for two years, teaching children English.

Pat W.

CTO

Patrick has more than 20 years of professional experience as a website programmer. Throughout his career, he’s developed solutions for multiple industries, focusing on automation, marketing, and advertising. At Home & Local Services, he leads our Development department and oversees the creation of our tech platforms. He enjoys a good challenge and likes to learn new technologies to better improve existing applications.

Fun fact: When not working, Patrick spends time with his wife and five children doing activities like hiking, biking, traveling, and gardening.

Peter

Performance Manager

After studying journalism at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Peter worked in hotel management before joining the team at Home & Local Services. As a Performance Manager, Peter most appreciates the opportunity to learn something new every day. Outside of work, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and children, playing chess, and going to the movies. 

Fun fact: Peter is a fan of the Green Bay Packers.

Sam

Search Manager

Sam is a graduate of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR. Prior to working at Home & Local Services, Sam worked for nationally-known bath product startup, Da Bomb. Sam is a Google- and Bing-certified marketing specialist who takes great pride in using his experience as a Search Manager to deliver low-cost, high-quality leads for home service clients across the country. When he is not optimizing paid search accounts and managing his clients’ digital presence, Sam enjoys camping, hiking, and fishing with his friends and his dog in the woods of northern Minnesota.

Fun fact: While attending Lewis & Clark, Sam was co-chair of the oldest student-run international relations symposium in the country. 

Thom

Co-Founder

In addition to being Chief Strategic Officer at Home & Local Services, Thom is also President and Owner of Johnson Media Group, which includes PromoMedia, a national marketing services company, and View 360+1, a business intelligence research firm. Previously, he served as President of Johnson Grossfield, where he developed and implemented strategic plans at the consumer, trade, and sales force level for several blue chip companies, including Anheuser Busch/Budweiser, Unilever Brands, Nestle Foods, Yamaha Motorsports, Blimpie Restaurants, and numerous others.

Tom

Director of Search

Tom graduated from Marquette University with a double major in Mathematics and History. Before joining Home & Local Services, he built and managed websites for small businesses and has an extensive history of implementing effective digital marketing strategies. Tom takes pride in developing and delivering the best digital lead generation services in the home services industry. His favorite part of Home & Local Services is the team culture and drive to be the best partner to their clients. Outside of the office, Tom and his wife love paddle boarding, biking, and traveling (especially in the winter!).

Fun fact: Tom has two dogs named Lucy and Leo. 

Vincent

Web Developer

Vincent is completing his studies in Web and Interactive Technologies at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design. He joined the Home & Local Services team with proven experience as a skilled web designer and developer. In his current position, he loves working as part of a team and the sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from bringing a client’s site from start to finish. His personal interests include philosophy, reading, building plastic models, writing and creating coding projects, and comedy. 

Fun fact: Vincent has seen Iron Maiden live in concert.

What if I and another company recommend the same referral?

We recommend that you split the reward at 50% of your current qualification level, and we will continue to count the referral as part of each HLS partner's escalating rewards. If that recommendation is unacceptable to both parties, HLS will then resolve the conflict at our discretion with mutually acceptable terms.

How quickly do I receive the rewards?

For any $1,000 level referral, you will be paid out immediately after we have a fully executed contract.

For the $5,000 level referral, you will receive $1,000 immediately after we have a fully executed contract; the remaining $4,000 dollar balance will be received 30 days after the referral goes live with HLS.

What do you do to ensure the referral I send you will be happy?

As you know, we have an excellent track record of customer satisfaction. However, as a show of faith, in the highly unlikely event that the client is dissatisfied with our service, we will release them from the annual contract 90 days after going live with HLS.

As we contribute to your growth by participating in the HLS Referral Program, what is your plan to be able to continue to deliver the high level of service that we benefit from?

It’s simple. We have highly developed people, processes, and technology that work synergistically together. This not only gives you the high level of service you’ve become accustomed to, but also creates scalability without impeding on the service we provide to our existing partners.

The Home & Local Services Referral Program blasts off as of June 15th, 2020. We will continue to put money in your pockets for all referrals we sign until December 31st, 2020. All new family members will need to have a signed contract in place before the ball comes down on New Years Day, when we will be toasting you and all the new HLS family members.

How do we register for the program?

It’s simple. If you are a current family member of HLS, you automatically qualify to participate in the program. All you need to do is fill out the referral form and your registration is effective immediately. Hit send and let the fun begin!

Six Simple Rules To Building Our Community

We are asking for your help and we are going to reward you for it. The purpose of the Home & Local Services Family Referral Program is to invite your peers to join our community. Our hope is to ask you to invite good friends who are interested in the benefits you know we have to offer. Verification is simple. When we are setting up the HLS demo, or at the beginning of the HLS demo, we will ask how they found us. The referral is effective by merely mentioning your name. That’s when the fun begins! With your help, our family will grow and you will be rewarded. 

  1. For the $1,000 level, whether the first or second referral, you will be paid out immediately after we have a fully executed contract.
  2. For the $5,000 referral level, you will receive $1,000 immediately after we have a fully executed contract. The $4,000 dollar balance will be paid 30 days after the new family member goes live with HLS.
  3. Getting paid is simple. For all participating HLS family members, payment will be made by their choice of either a check or as a credit to their current management fee. For clients more than 60 days in arrears, credit will be applied to past due fees.
  4. In order for the program to be effective for you, the company name, the contact person’s name, along with their email address and phone number are required in order to have the referral count towards your total.
  5. In the event that we receive duplicate referrals, we have a fun solution. We recommend that you split the reward at 50% of your current qualification level, and we will continue to count the referral as part of each HLS partner's escalating rewards. If that recommendation is unacceptable to both parties, HLS will then resolve the conflict at our discretion with mutually acceptable terms. 
  6. We love our clients, but as in any family, sometimes differences of opinions arise. Solving it will be simple. HLS will serve as mom and dad and come up with an effective solution, and that’s where the real fun begins, because as mom and dad, we want a happy family.
